Oakley, Gary
Gary Oakley, 66, died at home Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon. Interment: Springville Cemetery, Springville. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his children, Jonathan Oakley of Houston, Texas and Kelley (Roy) West of Colleyville, Texas, and their daughter, Scout. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Fisk of Canal Fulton, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wyllis; and brother, Bobby Fisk.
Gary was born Oct. 7, 1945, in Springville. He married Sue Jacobsen in 1968 and later divorced. Gary was a lab technician for Cargill for over 36 years, retiring in 2008. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 238.
Gary loved his Harley and fishing. He was an avid skier and a volunteer paramedic. As a colorful linguist, a practical joker, and accomplished equestrian, when Gary decided to do something, he did it to the extreme.
