Frances L. White, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, June 3, 2016, at Hiawatha Care Center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Frances was born July 27, 1927, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Forrest and Mamie (Sterling) Wright. She was united in marriage to Paul D. White Sr. on Aug. 4, 1945, in Cedar Rapids. She was known for her exquisite embroidery, especially her kitchen towels. Frances enjoyed reading romance novels and tending to her flower beds.
She always will be remembered around the holidays because her holiday feasts were amazing.
She is survived by her children, Barbara (Gene) Pernicka and Paul White Jr., both of Cedar Rapids, and Jeff (Carol) White of Central City; sisters, Betty Parmer and MaryAnn Clymer, both of Cedar Rapids; brother, Bill Wright of Hiawatha; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, Sandra Lukaszewicz, Connie Lee White and Mitchell Ray White; two brothers, Bob Wright and John Wright; and a sister, Edna Hogan.
Frances will be remembered as a loving mother, wife, sister and grandmother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
