Gill, Mary L.
Mary L. Gill, 85, a resident of Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
Survivors include her son, Curt Gill and wife Barbara of Deer River, Minn.; grandchildren, Bryan Gill and wife Jennifer of Grimes, Adam Gill of Waterloo and David Gill and wife Katie of Marion; great-grandchildren, Alexa Gill and Carson Gill of Grimes; niece, Mary (Tim) McLaren of Marion; and nephew, Phillip Beeson of Swisher.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Gill; and sister, Jeanne Beeson.
Born Dec. 10, 1924, in Marion, Iowa, Mary was the daughter of Harley and Louise (Goldsberry) Ives. She graduated from Marion High School. On Aug. 14, 1946, in Marion, she was united in marriage to John Gill. He died July 28, 1980. Mary worked for Linn-Mar High School as a secretary for over 30 years.
