LARRY DALE BETENBENDER

Larry Dale Betenbender, 68, of Iowa City, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at his home in Arizona. Burial at the Coggon (Iowa) Cemetery will be Saturday, May 28, with military rites at 2 p.m. Celebration of Life will be held with a luncheon at Coggon American Legion Hall at 2:30 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Ana, of Iowa City; a brother, Max (Donna) Betenbender; a niece; and extended family.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Blanche Betenbender; and nephew, Ted Betenbender.
Larry was born June 4, 1947, the son of Glen (Pete) and Blanche (Bliss) Betenbender. He graduated from North-Linn High School in 1965. Larry joined the Navy and served four years. He graduated from the University of Iowa.
Larry was united in marriage to Ana. He worked at the University of Iowa as a system architect until his retirement. He enjoyed golf, riding his Harley and spending time in Arizona in the winter.
