Brickner, Michael James
Michael James Brickner, 58, of Cedar Rapids, passed following a long illness Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center. Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, with visitation starting at 1 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Michael was born Jan. 18, 1953, in Solon, to Vernon and Betty (Steensgaard) Brickner. Michael married Maxine Gardner on June 28, 1997, in Newton. He worked as a press operator for over 25 years at various newspapers.
Michael loved the outdoors and loved riding his Harley.
Michael is survived by his wife, Maxi; a sister, Mary Jo (Jerry) Wolf; four granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; a niece; two nephews and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
