LARRY DALE BETENBENDER
Iowa City
Larry Dale Betenbender, 68, of Iowa City, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at his home in Arizona. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Ana of Iowa City; a brother, Max (Donna) Betenbender; a niece; and extended family.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Blanche Betenbender; and nephew, Ted Betenbender.
Larry was born June 4, 1947, the son of Glen (Pete) and Blanche (Bliss) Betenbender. He graduated from North Linn High School in 1965. Larry joined the Navy and served four years. He graduated from the University of Iowa.
Larry was united in marriage to Ana. He worked at the University of Iowa as a system architect until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, riding his Harley and spending time in Arizona in the winter.
