ANNETTE CARBIS
Tipton
A time to celebrate the life of Annette A. Carbis will be held Saturday, June 21, between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m. at the Senior Dining Center in Tipton. You are encouraged to join family and friends for a time of sharing memories with food and fellowship throughout. Annette died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Unity Point Hospital, Cedar Rapids, from failing health. Through a vision of helping medical research, she donated her body to the University of Iowa.
Annette was born June 21, 1938, in LaSalle, Ill., and was the daughter of Richard Carbis and Pearl Orzechowski. She attended school in LaSalle, Ill., and then graduated barber college and worked over 30 years as a licensed barber and beautician in the Cedar Rapids community. While Annette lived in Cedar Rapids, she attended St. Jude's Church. She moved to Tipton and found herself involved in the Tipton Dining Center. Annette enjoyed playing cards and bingo as well as socializing with her many friends who she met in Tipton.
Annette is survived by her children, Larry Prokup, Linda Kelsey, Frank Prokup, Ann Swiatek, Ron Prokup and Steve Prokup, who is currently serving with the 339th MP BN Army Reserve Unit based out of Davenport, Iowa, and is presently serving at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; her brother, Mic Bozonelos of LaSalle, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; and her special
Cedar Rapids friends and family.
