JIMMIE DEWEERDT

Jimmie DeWeerdt, 71, of Mount Dora, Fla., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2015. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, Stonebridge Church, Cedar Rapids, with Paster Randy Scheil and Robin Tyner officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Jimmie DeWeerdt was born on Aug. 11, 1944, to John and Dena DeWeerdt. For the majority of Jim's life, he worked in transportation and knew most of the bankers throughout Iowa.
Jim is survived by wife, Mary; and four children, Dennis (Sue) DeWeerdt, Dale (Chrissy) DeWeerdt, Kris (Mic) Taylor and Stephanie Johnston. He also had eight grandchildren, whom he dearly loved; four brothers and five sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the family at 30542 Lipizzan Terrace, Mount Dora, FL 32757.
