Boys basketball roundup: Marion tops CCA, Linn-Mar routs City High

Wali Parks recorded a double-double as top-ranked Iowa City West (5-0, 2-0 MVC) beat Waterloo East, 73-40, last night in Waterloo. Parks scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Connor McCaffery finished the night with 17 points and eight assists.
Defensively, Iowa City West did not allow a single double-digit scorer from Waterloo East (1-5, 0-2 MVC).
WATERLOO WEST 67, C.R. JEFFERSON 57 - Lincoln Conrey scored a game-high 20 points to lead Waterloo West in a Mississippi Valley Conference game in Cedar Rapids.
Demetrius Caddell added 16 points for the Wahawks (2-2, 1-1 MVC) and Jacory Pates had 10.
Tyler Konigsmark drilled four 3-pointers en route to a team-leading 18 points for Jefferson (0-5, 0-2 MVC), while Adam Van Oort scored 16.
Prairie at Dubuque Wahlert
DUBUQUE WAHLERT 73, C.R. PRAIRIE 62 - Josh Carter scored 27 points to lead all scorers as the Golden Eagles (2-3, 1-1 MVC) beat the Hawks in Dubuque. Cordell Pemsl tallied 19 points while Nolan Timp ended the night with 17 points.
Max Drahos scored 16 points, four rebounds, and two steals while Mitch Lorenz had 16 points and Austin Schrader tallied 12 points for the Prairie Hawks (3-2, 0-2 MVC)
MARION 58, CLEAR CREEK AMANA 49 - The Clippers (3-3, 2-1 Wamac East) led by two at the end of the first quarter but Marion pulled ahead 35-22 at the half after making 21 trips to the free throw line in the second quarter. Overall the Indians (4-2, 2-1 Wamac West) made 28 free throws while CCA only attempted 20. Marion was paced by Craig Engle's 21 points and Devin Quinn chipped in 11. Jake Neubauer had 12 points and Nile Rourke 10 for the Clippers.
LINN-MAR 69, IOWA CITY HIGH 45 - Linn-Mar's Nic Uhlir had 18 points at the half and finished with 23 as the Lions (4-1, 2-0 MVC) rolled at home. Jordan Bohannon added 12 points for Linn-Mar and Micah Martin led the Little Hawks (1-2, 1-1 MVC) with 10.
