Darling, Daniel Stephen
Daniel Stephen Darling, 68, of 445 Clymer Rd., Hiawatha, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Memorial Gathering: 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at New Covenant Bible Church, 1800 46th St. NE, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; and children, Venus Hargett of Tuscumbia, Ala., Dean (Judy) Darling of Marion, Steven Darling of Cedar Rapids, Brian Darling of Cedar Rapids, Angela Lopez of Hiawatha and Danielle (Nathan) Tippy of Troy, Mo.
Also surviving are his grandchildren, Jeremiah (Melissa) Hargett, Jessica, Samantha, Erika, Adriana, Molly, Daniela, David, Debra, Rebecca, Jonathan, Joshua and Bethany; great-grandchildren, Jayla and Emma; two brothers, Dean (Diane) Darling and Myron Darling; and one sister, Patricia Leather of South Carolina.
Born Nov. 2, 1942, in Omaha, Neb., Daniel was the son of Oliver and Doris (Riley) Darling. On Sept. 16, 1959, he was united in marriage to Shirley Wilson. He was self-employed as a painter for many years.
Daniel loved classical guitar music and enjoyed cycling.
