Hlastradamus: Crystal ball sees covers for Hawkeyes, Cyclones

Nov. 26, 2015 11:27 am
Hlastradamus loves holidays.
The prophet was celebrating the Fourth of July hundreds of years before America was discovered (with people already living here). He celebrated Lincoln's birthday the day Lincoln was born, because Abe was such a cute baby.
And he especially loves Thanksgiving, because mystics cannot live on cheeseburgers and pizza alone. He wants you to get fatter this weekend sin your wallets as well as your midsections, so here are his picks for Week 13 in college football.
Iowa -1.5 at Nebraska
Nebraska lost at home by two points to Wisconsin and Northwestern. The West champ can match that.
Iowa State -14
at West Virginia
The Cyclones won't phone it in for Paul Rhoads' finale.
Ohio State -1 at Michigan
Hlastradamus has never seen Urban Meyer smile. He did see Jim Harbaugh grin, once. So he's taking the team with the more-serious approach to this game.
Michigan State -11 vs. Penn State
Sparty will party. With Ohio State and Michigan desperately wanting Michigan State to foul things up, the Spartans will savor this chance to close things out with a romp.
Illinois +3.5 vs. Northwestern in Chicago
Soldier Field has seen worse games than this. Several times a season, in fact.
Rutgers -1 vs. Maryland
This great Big Ten rivalry only gets better.
