Jeanette (Booth) Woods, born in Palo on Aug. 2, 1921, to Isaiah and Elizabeth (Langguth) Booth, passed away Aug. 12, 2017. She was a resident of Rock Ridge Care Center in Shellsburg, where she and her husband resided after the Flood of 2008 destroyed their home in Palo.
She is survived by a son, Scott (Marilyn) Woods of Oelwein; grandson, Jeff (Shelley) Woods of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Heidi (Louis) Carlson of Portland, Ore.; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Olivia Woods of Cedar Rapids; as well as a number of nieces and nephews whom she adored.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Odie R. Woods; her parents; three brothers, Edwin, Boyd and Ivan Booth; and lifelong friend, Louise McClurg.
It was Jean's wish, that there be no visitation or public funeral.
