Jim and Val Gray of Cedar Rapids are

pleased to announce the engagement of their

daughter, Anna Elizabeth, to George John Katinas, son of John and Katie Katinas of

Bethesda, MD.

Anna is a 2004 graduate of CR Washington High School. The couple met their sophomore year of college at Saint Louis University. After learning that George's great-grandmother grew up in Cedar Rapids, Anna knew their

connection was meant to be. George earned a degree in English and Anna in Business

Administration. George then moved to New York City and completed a Masters of

Dramatic Writing at New York University (NYU). After working at the Joyce Foundation in Chicago, Anna moved to NYC to work in grants management at the Carnegie

Corporation of New York. She also attended NYU and earned a Masters in Public

Administration, Nonprofit Management and Public Policy.

George is currently a Research Associate for ABC News media archives. Anna recently

accepted a position with Fluxx Labs, a

technology start-up working in the

philanthropy sector.

The couple will exchange vows next June at the Cedar Rapids Public Library and will

continue to reside in Brooklyn, NY where they enjoy all the city has to offer!
