No longer simply worn for warmth in the winter months, scarves have become one of the hottest accessories for women. They add color, style and pizazz to any outfit at an affordable price.
The best thing about a scarf, especially here in Iowa, is the fact that they can be worn all year long. A floral scarf with a light tee and jean jacket is the perfect way to transition in to spring. And why not just tuck a scarf in your purse during those summer ballgames!?
Once the sun sets, you can use it to stay warm; leave that bulky jacket at home.
“Scarves are an affordable way to accessorize, stay with the trends and add creativity to your look,” says Kate Ungs, owner of Purse-N-ality of Marion.
Whether you are a seasoned pro at styling and can never seem to have enough, or just starting to see scarves as something more than just for under your winter jacket; give these accessories the attention they deserve.

Let's break down some of the most popular styles happening now.
Infinity
These scarves are one long loop that are simply looped around the neck twice. They come in chunky knits or thin cotton and everything in between. They are great for tucking under your winter jacket, but also for adding on top of a sweater or blouse for those cold office spaces. Ease into wearing scarves with an infinity.
Textured
Ruffles, knit, pleats and fringe all add texture and therefore volume to a scarf. They are great go-to scarves since styling them is a breeze. A classic loop around will do the trick and you have instant flair.
Prints, pashminas and pins
Another great variety of scarves are ones that have prints. Simply throw one around your neck and let the print -- from edgy skulls to a flirty floral -- do the work. A last trick to keep in mind is adding a pin to your scarf; raid your grandmother's collection, I bet she has a few. Give solid scarves a kick with unique tying techniques.
