Iowa State is bowl eligible for the first time since 2012, having beaten then-No. 4 TCU 14-7 Saturday to improve to 6-2.
Of course, the Cyclones (4-1 Big 12) have goals beyond six wins – Coach Matt Campbell even told his team in the locker room postgame that 'bull---- programs care about going 6-6.'
But while a lot will change in the college football landscape between now and December, bowl projections are for fun anyway. Here's where a few national prognosticators see the Cyclones.
Jerry Palm, CBS Sports: Camping World vs. Virginia Tech
Kyle Bonagura, ESPN: Camping World vs. North Carolina State
David M. Hale, ESPN: Camping World vs. North Carolina State
Eric Single, Sports Illustrated: Camping World vs. North Carolina State
Bill Bender, Sporting News: Alamo vs. Stanford
Jason Kirk, SB Nation: Liberty vs. Kentucky
College Football News: Liberty vs. Auburn
