Biden to visit Iowa for first time since midterms

Feb. 6, 2015 10:14 pm
Vice President Joe Biden will visit Des Moines on Thursday to promote President Barack Obama's economic policies and to make college education more affordable.
Biden, who is considered a potential candidate for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, will visit Drake University and Des Moines Area Community College.
At Drake, he will deliver remarks on the Obama administration's economic policies.
Then he will participate in a round-table discussion at DMACC that will focus on the critical role that partnerships between community colleges and employers can play in helping Americans obtain the skills they need to succeed in the workforce.
Biden, 72, who participated in the 1988 and 2008 Iowa caucus campaigns, has visited Iowa three times since the 2012 presidential election. Most recently, he campaigned for Democratic Reps. Rep. Dave Loebsack and Bruce Braley in October.
The Republican National Committee said it's no surprise Biden is 'jumping at the chance to advocate for President Obama's failed liberal policies.”
However, spokesman Fred Brown said the bigger question is when Hillary Clinton, who was in Iowa to campaign for Democrats before the November midterm election, will 'come out of hiding?”
'Why is Hillary Clinton afraid to bring her campaign for the president's third term to the Hawkeye State?” he said.
