Dudek, Edward V.
Edward V. Dudek, 92, of Summit Point Senior Living Community in Marion, died there Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011. Services with military rites at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice; a son, Vincent (Pat Kindl); two daughters, Susan (Robert Dobling) Fuller and Debra (Kevin) Minish; a stepdaughter, Paula (Marc) Allison; and a stepson, Michael (Bernice) Kennedy.
He is also survived by six grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marzetta; a son, Robert; a sister, Mary; stepdaughter, Paige; stepgrandson, Daniel; and a great-grandchild Rachel.
Ed was born on Jan. 4, 1919, in Linn County, the son of Robert and Bessie Dvorak Dudek. He married Marzetta Fay on Dec. 7, 1942, in Lancaster, Mo. She died in 1969. He later married Beatrice Allen on Jan. 1, 1970, in Springville.
Ed was an inspector at Iowa Manufacturing and retired from there in 1986, after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Springville Presbyterian Church, Lions Club, American Legion and proudly served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Ed enjoyed reading, watching the Cubs, tinkering in his garage and especially the time he spent with his beloved family.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations, may be given to homeless veterans.
