Bragg, Kathleen (Oxley) Goodyear
Kathleen (Oxley) Goodyear Bragg, 88, of Prescott, Ariz., formerly of Marion, passed away Dec. 23, 2010. Per Kathleen wishes, there were no formal funeral services. Private inurnment will take place at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion, at a later date. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion is assisting with local arrangements.
Kathleen was born on March 15, 1922, in Marion, to George and Ruth Secrist Oxley. She graduated from Marion High School in 1940 and Grinnell College in 1944. Kathleen earned a M.S. in Education from the University of southern California and spent 37 years as a teacher, counselor and vice principal. After teaching for seven years in the Marion schools, Kathleen taught for 30 years at the Compton, Calif., and Downey, Calif., schools, retiring in 1982.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dale B. Goodyear (who was killed in France in 1945) and Donald E. Bragg (who died in 2007); her parents; and her brother, George Oxley Jr.
