Back On The Road…
N/A
Mar. 16, 2011 5:48 pm
As the Earth, Wind & Fire song goes, “Time to get back on the road; gonna leave these troubles behind.” It has been one of those songs that gets trapped in my mind and plays over and over, while I'm running. “Don't you cry, when I say goodbye…”

It has been too long since I hit the road last…well, too long for me, anyway. And not just being on the road but too long since my last race! Both are about to change, soon.
Surprisingly, I only have one race to my credit, this year – a 600 meter “experience” at UNI. I haven't checked but am fairly certain that the Drake Relays officials will not accept that time as Masters 800 qualifying. So, wanting to make sure that I do get something tangible to send in, I will finally be getting a halfmile race in. Assuming all goes as planned (ahem), it will be at Eastern Illinois University on the 2
nd
of April. Time will not be a concern, at all.
I guess that I wouldn't consider Charleston, Illinois a great road destination, but will be glad to be back on track and get an 800 in. It will not be my only getaway - no worries when it comes to that. I will also be hitting Savannah, Georgia and possibly Knoxville, Tennessee, as well. Oh yeah, and Des Moines for a really big track meet…
Until I bring you my next road/running experience, I pray life is grand for all! Happy trails, training, and living. Peace ~
