Reader amused by Gov. Reynolds’ tweet

When I saw Gov. Kim Reynolds' recent tweet touting her accomplishments in office, I instinctively laughed. A bitter, disheartened laugh. At the top of her list was 'historic K-12 investments.”
For the past eight years, Republicans, led by the governor's office, habitually have underfunded public education, have burdened students with counterproductive testing requirements, and, to take it one step further, have demoralized and disrespected teachers by gutting long-standing collective bargaining laws. As a result, Iowa has tumbled from its once lofty position as a recognized leader in education. 'Historic,” indeed.
While I laughed at the first sentence, I cringed at the last: 'And we are not done yet!”
Just how much more damage will she do?
