Dustin Michael Bumbarger, 44, of Marion, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018, at his home. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Dustin's life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, at the Marion Village Club House, located at 700 35th St., Marion. A private committal service will be held at a later date.
Dustin was born Jan. 13, 1974, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Susan Bumbarger. He graduated from Marion High School and attended Kirkwood Community College. Dustin was a team leader through Premier Staffing and was working at CCB Packaging. He enjoyed woodworking but, most of all, Dustin loved spending time with his son.
He is survived by his mother, Susan Detert; son, Bryce M. Bumbarger; Bryce's mother, Cherie Ritchie; brother, Russell (Kelly) Detert, all of Marion; sister, Heather (James) Stivers of Springville; two aunts, Vicki Bumbarger of Marion and Lisa (Kevin) Ciha of Coggon; and several nieces and nephews.
Dustin was preceded in death by his grandparents and great-grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dustin's memory.
