A North Liberty man faces numerous burglary, theft, and drug charges after a sting of incidents from March through June.
Police arrested Morgan T. Powell, 18, of 2240 Balsam Ct., after learning of his alleged connections to stolen objects.
On June 12, officers served a narcotics search warrant at 20 Penn Oaks No. 9, where marijuana was found, according to criminal complaints. Police said they ordered Powell to sit down, but Powell flushed the marijuana down the sink.
Inside the residence was more than $10,000 in stolen property, including firearms, and computer and video gamin equipment, according to police.
Police said they used the stolen property to connect Powell to three burglaries in North Liberty and Johnson County.
Powell is charged with first-degree theft, second-degree theft, three counts of third-degree burglary, possession of marijuana and preventing apprehension or obstruction prosecution and intoxication.
Powell remains in the Johnson County Jail on a 30,000 cash-only bond.
His arraignment has been set for Nov. 4 at 2 p.m.
