James "Jim" Edward Willett, 75, of Alburnett, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Graveside services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Lafayette Cemetery,
Alburnett.
Survivors include his sister, Mary Smith of Mechanicsville; sisters-in-law, Ina McAmis of Greeneville, Tenn., and Mary Ann Willett of Marion; special friends, Shelia Williams, Leonard and Norma Buser and Kent and Rita Sauer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; parents; and brothers, Robert Glenn Willett and Norman Willett.
Jim was born in Greeneville, Tenn., on July 25, 1940, the son of Lonnie E. and Lillie M. (Ricker) Willett. On Oct. 26, 1960, he married Shirley Ann Reaves in Lisbon, Iowa. Jim served in the United States Army. He worked for Rockwell Collins for 30 years. Jim loved country and bluegrass music and enjoyed golfing.
A memorial fund has been established in Jim's memory.
