He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Leota; and a brother, Cecil.
Smitty was born May 25, 1919, in Hammerville, a small town in Buchanan County, the son of Leonard and Elda Brody Smith. He married Donna D. Walton in 1952 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Smitty was a truck driver. He drove for Kings Concrete for several years and was an independent driver for over 32 years, retiring in 1980.
Smitty enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, going to the casino and traveling with Donna in their RV throughout the United States. He proudly served in the Navy during World War II as a naval aviator.
Smitty was a very respected, generous and giving man. He had a great sence of humor and enjoyed telling jokes. His greatest joy, however, was time spent with his beloved family and many friends.
