T. JEAN GERLITS

T. Jean Gerlits, 94, of Solon, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Tim Sheedy presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. A luncheon will be
served following at St. Mary's Parish Hall. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Solon are caring for Jean's arrangments.
T. Jean was born Sept. 24, 1922, in Williamsburg, the daughter of Raymond and Ethel (Butler) Niner. Jean was united in marriage to Lawrence Gerlits on Feb. 10, 1941, in Millersburg. Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her pride and joy was being the family cheerleader. She was a mother first and a Tupperware saleslady for many years. She volunteered at the VA Health Care System, St. Mary's Catholic Church and knitted stocking hats for young infants at Mercy Hospital. Jean enjoyed going out to eat, traveling and most of all spending time with her friends and family.
Jean is survived by her children, Larry (Faye), Jim (Wanda), Susan Gerlits, Robert, Mike (Jenny), Tim (Lisa), Vincent (Sue), Francis (Daisy), Jeff and Pat (Gabrielle) Gerlits; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death her parents; her husband, Lawrence; her sons, Dale and George Gerlits; a granddaughter, Angela Gerlits; two daughters-in-law, Mary Ann and Bonnie; as well as her siblings.
