Betty Guilford, 86, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Hospice of Mercy, Hiawatha, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 Monday morning, March 13, at the United Church of Monticello, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Ed Moreano will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.
Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Family Services.

Surviving are her husband, Larry; two children, Scott (Gwen) Guilford of Monticello and Pamela Guilford of Cedar Rapids; and four grandchildren, Stephanie, Gavin, Gabrielle and Gage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Betty Jane Greif was born March 5, 1931, near Worthington, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Ida Lehman Greif. Betty attended country school and graduated from St. Paul Catholic School in Worthington in 1949. She worked in a coil factory in Skokie, Ill., before marriage. Betty married Larry Guilford on Aug. 29, 1953, at St. Luke Methodist Church, Monticello. Betty was employed at John McDonald Hospital and the Senior Home. She also did some in home health care. In December 1986, Betty and Larry became snowbirds, spending their winters in Arizona. They made their last trip to Arizona in 2011.
Betty was a member of the United Church of Monticello and the church circles. She also belonged to the Neighborly Neighbors in Richland Township.
