Magoon, Norma June
Norma June Magoon, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids by Chaplain Nick Longworth. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Those left to remember her life include two sons, Dennis (Sharon) Gralund of Jackson, Wyo. and Christopher (Jenette) Gralund of Anamosa; grandchildren, Christopher Jr. (Carrie) Gralund, Benjamin (Kristina) Gralund, Matthew (Moira) Gralund and Wendy (Dave) Sutherland; and great-grandchildren, Miranda, Gabrielle, Ayden, Lukas, Hannah, Addison, Rose and Riley.
Norma was born June 24, 1922, the daughter of Arthur and Olga (Tajzler) Ferguson in Cedar Rapids. On May 10, 1941, she was united in marriage to Chester S. Gralund, the father of her two sons. The marriage lasted 32 years. She later married Richard Magoon on Oct. 15, 1973. This union was ended by his death on Oct. 14, 1993, the eve of their 20th wedding anniversary.
During her life Norma enjoyed many hobbies, crafts, handiwork and oil painting. Her greatest reward in life was time spent with her family.
