Pastor Kirk M. Wilkie, 43, of Clear Lake, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Kirk was born July 13, 1972, in St. Paul, Minn., son of Alan and Lyn (Hanson) Wilkie. He graduated from Woodbury High School, Woodbury, Minn., Cornell College, Mount Vernon, and received a Master of Divinity degree from Wartburg Theological Seminary. Kirk was united in marriage to Cindy (Alt) Hart on March 8, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, where he served as executive pastor.
He was a loving husband and dedicated father, who enjoyed spending time with his children.
Kirk is survived by his wife, Cindy; four children, Celia and Regan Wilkie, Kathy (Deric) Stutzman and Valerie Hart, all of Marion; his parents of Hudson, Wis.; and two brothers, Mark Wilkie and his daughter, Maycee, and Rob (Tara) Wilkie and their sons, Brett and Brad.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, and 11 a.m. Monday, March 7, at Woodbury Lutheran Church, Woodbury, Minn. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 7, in Acacia Park Cemetery, 2151 Pilot Knob Rd., St. Paul, MN 55120.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church for the Pastor Kirk M. Wilkie Memorial Fund, supporting Zion special projects and mission work close to his heart.
