Sharon K. (Haley) Swehla, 72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, memorial services will be held at a later date with burial at Mound Cemetery in Watkins.
Sharon was born on June 9, 1947, the daughter of Frederick and Shirley (Slick) Haley. She graduated from Central City High School.
On June 1, 1991, Sharon married Robert Swehla in Norway, Iowa.
She worked at Sheller-Globe, later United Technologies, in Iowa City until her retirement.
Sharon was very creative and enjoyed crocheting, coloring books and sudoku books in her leisure.
She is survived by her husband, Robert of Watkins; two children, Charlene Costello of Marion and Charles Costello of Cedar Rapids; three stepchildren, Robert (Dusty) Swehla of Marion, Deborah Swehla of Des Moines and Matthew (Elon) Swehla of Palo; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and her siblings, Christine Eidemiller, Allan Haley, Josephine (Robert) Aldridge, Matthew (Beth) Haley and George Haley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Richard Eidemiller; and sister-in-law, Roberta Haley.
