Two people were taken to a hospital after a rollover accident early Sunday morning on Blairs Ferry Road, authorities said.
Andrew Barnes, 28, of Cedar Rapids, was westbound around 2:15 a.m. when he lost control near Elf Lane, as the highway turns toward Palo, according to the Linn County sheriff's office. The car went into the south ditch and rolled.
Barnes and a passenger in the car, 26-year-old Michelle Schiess, of Marion, were taken by ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Barnes was treated and released, and Schiess remained there Monday morning, in fair condition, hospital spokeswoman Sarah Corizzo said.
Deputies cited Barnes for failure to maintain control. An investigation was continuing to determine what caused the rollover.
