Charles Raymond Rodgers, 62, of Williamsburg, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, at Mercy Iowa City.
Chuck was born July 15, 1953, in Sigourney, to Charles and Norma (Herdlicka) Rodgers. He graduated from Deep River-Millersburg High School in 1972. On Sept. 6, 1975, he married Carolyn Schwarting at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. A lifelong resident of Iowa County, Chuck worked in maintenance at Williamsburg Manufacturing until becoming disabled 12 years ago. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing, woodworking, watching the Hawkeyes and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn of Williamsburg; daughter, Chelsey (Mark) Kolpin of Grinnell; son, Colin Rodgers (Julie Gast) of Marengo; two grandchildren, Bryce and Lily Kolpin; brother, Phillip (Kristy) Rodgers of Millersburg; and sister, Susan (Steve) McCleary-Bain of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Linda Rodgers; and brother, Jonathan Rodgers.
Celebration of Life service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Williamsburg, with Pastor Richard Meyer officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg.
