Ruaa Elkhair and Marwa Ibrahim
Jun. 27, 2019 7:00 am
The Iowa City/Coralville area has been home to hundreds of Sudanese citizens and residents since 1996. The country of Sudan is currently going through a revolution for democracy. In order to bring awareness and show solidarity, the Iowans for a Democratic Sudan will be hosting an educational forum on Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Coralville Public Library (Room A). The forum will highlight Sudan's unique history, breakdown the events leading to the Sudanese uprising, the Khartoum Massacre and lastly, what community members can do to support the cause, and how they can spread awareness about this current crisis. The public is invited.
