Bruce, Barbara A.
Barbara A. Bruce, 86, of Maricopa, Ariz., formerly of Central City, died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at her son's home in Maricopa after a long illness. Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors include a son, Michael (Sandy) of Maricopa, Ariz.; and one daughter, Renee Kleitsch of Muscatine. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Dann and Vanessa Figueroa and Wyatt Bruce; and two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Saylim Figueroa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant daughter, Susan; and a sister, Kathryn Burger.
Barbara was born Nov. 25, 1923, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Carl and Bertha Saul Johnson. She married Donald L. Bruce on April 15, 1942, in Yakima, Wash. He died in 1981. Barbara was a homemaker and a member of the Red Hat Society. She greatly enjoyed and loved her family, her many friends and was always there for them.
Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix in Barbara's name.
