Margie Ransford, 61, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at home after a brief illness. Graveside services: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at Forest Chapel Cemetery in Morley. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her brothers, Carl Ransford (JoAnne Hunt) of Cedar Rapids, Ron Ransford (Wendy) of Marion and Don Ransford (Sharon) of Robins; two nieces and four nephews; and her family at REM of Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Margie was born Feb. 27, 1953, the daughter of Edward and Dorothy (Windsor) Ransford in Anamosa, Iowa. She loved singing, kittens and being with family and friends. Margie touched the lives of many people with her smile and her ability to find pleasure in the simple things in life.
The family would like to thank REM of Iowa for providing a nurturing home for Margie over the past 20 years and for their unconditional love.
