Donald Robert Brosh, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 26, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 27, at the chapel. Burial will be in Dunkard Cemetery, Midway.
Don was born July 29, 1939, in Swisher, the son of Charles and Anna (Balvin) Brosh. He married Amy Bopp on Dec. 27, 1961, in Rock Island. Don worked at Wilsons-Farmstead for over 35 years. He later worked at The Eastern Iowa Airport for over nine years in maintenance.
Don enjoyed gardening and fixing and building projects. He enjoyed belonging to P3 Union group from Wilson-Farmstead and helped with the flood recovery. Don belonged to the Moose Lodge most of his life.
He was a farm boy, who loved the outdoors, along with gardening and raising animals.
Don loved his family more than anything – his wife, Amy, with whom he had spent the past 53 years; his four girls, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Spending time with family and friends was the most important thing to him.
Don is survived by his wife, Amy; children, Roberta "Tootie" (Dan) Quintana, Rebecca "Becky" Gordon and Dawn "Deedee" Cunningham, all of Cedar Rapids, and Tammy Lou (Tim) Boies of Toddville; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way; his sisters, Janice (Chuck) Boyles of Cedar Rapids, Cheryl Gharamti of Davenport and Lillian (Ron) Harrelson of Cedar Rapids; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Gimm of Oregon, Dorothy (Jim) Braden of Macedonia and Leah Kreinbring of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wayne Brosh and Charles Brosh; sister, Shirley Riley; stepsister, Susie Manley; and his son-in-law, Jerry Cunningham.
