ALVIN ANDREW DUTTLINGER
Coralville
Alvin Andrew Duttlinger, 79, of Coralville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at his home.
Alvin was born Dec. 27, 1936, in Johnson County, Iowa, the son of Andrew and Marcella (Nearad) Duttlinger. He served in the U.S. Navy and later worked as a shoe salesman in several department stores.
He is survived by his sons, Kylon of Burlington and Kristopher of Michigan; one brother, Joseph (Jerelyn) of South Carolina; and four sisters, Beverly (Bud) Bliley of Conception Junction, Mo., Sande (Paul) Goodman of Iowa City, Linda (Pat) Duttlinger of Iowa City and Sue (Les) Albrecht of Tiffin. He had many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers, LeRoy and Dick.
At his request, there will be no funeral services. Burial will be at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Adel, Iowa, with military honors at a later date.
Memorials may be made in his memory to the "Pets for Vets" at Cedar Valley Humane Society or the Johnson County Food Pantries.
