Golden, Denise Kay
Denise Kay Golden, 54, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Monticello, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following a courageous battle with breast cancer. Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Friday, July 13, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Anamosa. Funeral Mass: 1 p.m. Friday at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids by Father Mark Reasoner. The family will greet friends one hour before the services at the church on Friday. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her daughter, Emily (Damien) Claypool of Cedar Rapids; her son, Grant Golden of Vinton; her mother, Rosemary Goldsmith of Monticello; a granddaughter, Willow Claypool; brothers and sisters, Judy (Bill) Dietiker of Anamosa, Randy (Kris) Frimml of Monticello and Deb (Mark) Merfeld of Monticello; and a special friend, Joe.
She was preceded in death by her father, Everett Frimml, and her stepfather, Glenn Goldsmith.
Denise was born Dec. 12, 1957, the daughter of Everett and Rosemary (Schnoebelen) Frimml in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1976. She was a member of Milestones and St. Jude's Catholic Church.
Family meant everything to Denise. We will all miss her beautiful smile.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in memory of Denise.
