Dolores Patricia Lighthall Strauch Opatz, 88, of Lisbon, died Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the Clarence Nursing Home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, at the Mount Vernon Cemetery. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is caring for Dolores and her family.
Dolores was born Nov. 4, 1928, in Freeport, Ill., the daughter of Ray "Pat" and Florence (Lower) Mead, in her grandparents' home.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Al Opatz of Lisbon; two sons, Bill (Sandy) Lighthall of Lisbon and Steve (Tasha) Strauch of Iowa City; daughter-in-law, Cindy Strauch of Hiawatha; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; stepson, Ken (Ann) Opatz of Lisbon; two stepdaughters, Diane (Nic) Muni of Oxford, Ohio, and Linda (John) Roemhild of Cincinnati, Ohio; nine step-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; her sister, JoAnne (Skeeter) Knodle; and her brother, Dick Mead, both of Freeport; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Richard Lighthall and Eugene Strauch; her son, Robert Strauch; and her sister, Phyllis Romeo.

The family would to extend a special acknowledgement to the Clarence Nursing Home as well as the staff at Iowa City Hospice for their outstanding care and kindness.
