Chaney, Gary Lynn
Gary Lynn Chaney, 54, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, in his home. A memorial visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, temporarily located at 3100 F Ave. NW, where there will be a 7 p.m. celebration of life service for Gary. A private family inurnment will be at a later date. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Gary was born March 26, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Gene and Gladys Megonigle Chaney. He was a union painter for over 20 years in Cedar Rapids, and was a proud member of the local No. 447.
Gary loved to hunt, fish, go mushroom hunting and woodworking. He loved to spend time with his friends and share stories of life and always enjoyed a good beer and a cigarette.
Gary is survived by his sons, Terry (Andrea) Chaney of Brandon, and Tony Chaney (Bridget Holladay) of Brandon; Makayla, Lyndsey and Langston Chaney; a brother, Greg Chaney (Candy Lidey) of Cedar Rapids; a nephew, Brad (Amanda) Chaney of Rapid City, S.D.; and his good buddy, Monte Kraft of Cedar Rapids.
