CLARENCE A. "PEANUT" THARP
Lone Tree
Clarence A. "Peanut" Tharp, 62, of Lone Tree, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Clarence Arthur Tharp was born June 15, 1957, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Carl and Shirley (Cable) Tharp. He lived in the Lone Tree area for a number of years and worked at United Natural Foods in Iowa City. Peanut was a serious Kansas City Chiefs fan, enjoyed fishing, traveling, attending concerts, hanging out in the "man cave" and drinking beer. But most of all, he loved his family, especially being grandpa to his three granddaughters!
His family includes his daughter and her husband, Alecia and Matt Parizek; three granddaughters, Adisen, Charlee and Makena; siblings, Linda Penhollow (Arthur), Sharon Brenke (Fred), Michael Tharp, Robert Tharp and Lori Reisen (Joe); and a very significant other, Teresa Blanchard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Bill and Richard Tharp.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Peanut's life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at the VFW in Riverside.
