KCRG 9.2 to air Iowa classic basketball games

CEDAR RAPIDS - Several of Iowa men's basketball's greatest victories will appear as part of 'Classic Games” on KCRG 9.2 this winter.
The games will appear at 9 a.m. every Saturday morning beginning Jan. 3 through April 4 on KCRG 9.2. Two Iowa football bowl victories will air before the Hawkeyes' Jan. 2 bowl game against Tennessee.
Here's a list of the games along with their descriptions:
FOOTBALL
Dec. 27 (9 a.m.)
- Iowa vs. Texas Tech: 2001 Alamo Bowl Dec. 29, 2001. Kicker Nate Kaeding's 47-yard field goal with 44 seconds to play lifts the Hawkeyes to 19-16 victory.
Dec. 30 (7 p.m.)
- Iowa vs. Tennessee: 1982 Peach Bowl Dec. 31, 1982. Wide receiver Dave Moritz caught eight passes for 168 yards to guide the Hawkeyes past the Volunteers 28-22.
BASKETBALL
All men's basketball classic games start at 9 a.m. on Saturday mornings (except noted)
Dec. 24 (7 p.m.)
- Drake at Iowa, Dec. 20, 2005. Iowa guard Adam Haluska's two 3-pointers in the game's final two minutes holds off Bulldogs' upset attempt)
Dec. 31 (7 p.m.)
- Ohio State at Iowa, Jan. 28, 2006. The Hawkeyes earn a first-place tie in Big Ten while honoring the school's 'Fabulous Five” at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Jan. 3
- Michigan State at Iowa, Feb. 26, 1987. The Hawkeyes set a then-school record with their 24th single-season win in 93-64 blowout of the Spartans.
Jan. 10
- Iowa at Minnesota, Feb. 20, 1988. The Hawkeyes blast the Gophers 107-86 at Williams Arena, notching its highest point output in the series' 194-game history.
Jan. 17
- Iowa vs. Wisconsin, March 8, 2002. Luke Recker's buzzer-beater sinks the top-seeded Badgers in a Big Ten Tournament quarterfinal.
Jan. 24
- Iowa at Purdue, Jan. 19, 1987. Iowa celebrates its first-ever No. 1 ranking with a 70-67 win at No. 5 Purdue.
Jan. 31
- Iowa at Michigan State, Jan. 28, 1993. Iowa rallies from a 15-point deficit with three minutes left to beat Michigan State in the first game since star forward's Chris Street's tragic death.
Feb. 7
- Iowa at Michigan, Jan. 31, 2007. Iowa bounces back with a dazzling second half after 11-point deficit in Ann Arbor.
Feb. 14
- Indiana at Iowa, Jan. 22, 1987. No. 1 Iowa becomes first team to hang more than 100 points on a Bobby Knight team to open that season 18-0.
Feb. 21
- Iowa at Ohio State, Jan. 12, 1999. No. 12 Iowa wins 11th straight to hand No. 21 Ohio State its first loss at its new arena.
Feb. 28
- Penn State at Iowa, March 4, 2000. Rob Griffin scores 36 points, the most by a Hawkeye in 11 years, to spur Iowa's comeback win.
March 7
- Northwestern at Iowa, Jan. 24, 1980. Kevin Boyle and Steve Krafcisin score career highs of 24 and 20 points, respectively, to blow out the Wildcats at The Fieldhouse.
March 14
- Iowa vs. Indiana, March 9, 2002. Luke Recker drills a last-second shot against his former team to send the Hawkeyes to the Big Ten Tournament title game.
March 21
- Iowa vs. UTEP, March 15, 1987. Roy Marble scores 28 points to rally No. 6 Iowa past Tim Hardaway and UTEP in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
March 28
- Iowa vs. Arkansas, March 13, 1999. Iowa defeats Arkansas to advance to Sweet Sixteen in the final Iowa win for Coach Tom Davis.
April 4
- Iowa vs Georgetown, March 16, 1980. Steve Waite's three-point play with five seconds left gives the Hawkeyes an 81-80 victory and their third Final Four trip in school history.
