Ellis is survived by his three daughters, Kristin (Dan Hines) Bascom of Manchester, Karla (John) Smith of Springville and Kara Ganka of Iowa City; son, Jim (Becky) Digman of Galena, Ill.; three brothers, Tim of West Union, Steve of Wadena and Paul (Bev) of Dysart; 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Chelsea, Chelsea Kay (Cody), Devin (Steven), Mady, Autumn, Shianne (Dakota), Jessica, Savana and Samantha; five great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Brayten, Ty, Amira and Pieck; special family friends, Randy "Willie" Sproston and Rudy Light; and longtime buddy, John Scheer, who showed Corky what true friendship was.
Ellis was born in Wadena on April 9, 1940, to William and Nica (Fay) Corkery. He graduated from high school in 1958. He married Sharon Lewis in Anamosa on Jan. 11, 1969. In 2009, Corky retired from Lloyd Table Co.
Corky was a wonderful husband, father, brother, friend, grandpa and great-papa to his great-grandkids. He loved drinking beer at Sutliff, working on cars and hanging out in his garage. Corky touched so many hearts, and will be missed dearly by so many.
Ellis was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; parents, William and Nica; three brothers, Gregory, William and Charles; four sisters, Barbara, Jane, Jeanne and Joanne; and son-in-law, Bronson Ganka.
In lieu of flowers, drink a beer.
