Hosch, Marjorie G.
Marjorie G. Hosch, 89, of Monticello, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, where a parish Scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Rev. Keith Birch will officiate.
Marjorie was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Canton, Iowa, the daughter of Minor and Gertrude (Burkey) Bullock. She married Leo M. Hosch on June 14, 1938, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello. Together they operated H&M Produce in Monticello for over 20 years. Later she was employed at Energy Manufacturing until retirement.
Some of Marjorie's favorite pastimes were fishing, mushroom hunting and playing Bingo and cards.
Marjorie is survived by a son, Jim (Carol) Hosch of Maquoketa; three daughters, Betty (Syl) Gansemer of Dyersville and Julie (Nick) Sauser and Linda (John) Sauser, both of Monticello; a daughter-in-law, Teresa Hosch of Maquoketa; 20 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Leverne Bonewitz of Ackley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; a son, Richard; two grandsons, Stephen Gansemer and Tom Sauser; a great-grandson, Kyle Sauser; two sisters and two brothers.
Memorials are preferred.
We want to thank the staff at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care these last seven years, and the staff at Above and Beyond Hospice.
