Monticello
Judy Appleby Kaune, 65, died Friday, July 25, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time. The Rev. Edwin Moreano will officiate at the services.

Surviving is her husband, Robert; three children, Jeffery (Kim) Kaune, Grimes, Brenda (Mark) Zimmerman, Dubuque, and Sarah (David) Hoffner, Monticello; four grandchildren, Peyton, Grace, Jackson and Jonathan; a sister, Janet (Tom) Mai, Monticello; and three brothers, Jerry (Ruth) Appleby, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Junior (Suzie) Appleby, Wichita, Kan., and Jeffrey Appleby, Monticello.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Joanne as an infant and Jeraldine Milroy; and four brothers, Lee Roy "Red," Jack, Jim and Ernie.
Judy Marie Appleby was born March 21, 1949, at Monticello, Iowa. She was the daughter of John A. and Josephine Rigby Appleby. Judy attended the Monticello Community Schools. Judy married Robert Kaune on Jan. 11, 1969, at St. Luke Methodist Church, Monticello. Judy was employed at Regency Printing in Dubuque and Polo Plastics in Monticello. She had also done some in-home day care. Judy was a member of the Royal Neighbors.
