De Loris Mae Feldman, 87, of Monticello, died Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Mercy Iowa City. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 9, at the funeral home with burial at Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Baldwin will officiate.
De Loris was born March 3, 1928, in rural Monticello, the daughter of George and Alvina (Kray) Dirks. She married Emil Feldman on Nov. 12, 1946, at Sacred Heart Church in Monticello. They spent the rest of their lives in Monticello where she worked at John McDonald Hospital, Collins Radio, the Monticello Police Department and at Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was also active at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Campfire Girls and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She will be remembered by five children, Jenean Schuster of Monticello, Diane (Steve) Behrends of Mount Pleasant, Dennis (Donna) Feldman of Lisbon, Larry (Gretchen) Feldman of Lisbon and Marilee (Nelson Baethke) Feldman of Mount Vernon; one sister, Darlene Moncrief of Amber; two sisters-in-law, Jenny Dirks of Monticello and Mary A. Kelchen of Monticello; a dear friend, Rita (Floyd) Feldmann; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many special friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Emil; one brother, Marion Dirks; a son-in-law, Dave Schuster; a grandson, Jason Feldman Walton; and a brother-in-law, Bob Kelchen.
Memorials are preferred to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
