CEDAR RAPIDS - RSM US LLP, formerly McGladrey LLP, will be moving to the new 11-story CRST Center in downtown Cedar Rapids from its existing offices in Town Centre, 221 Third Ave. SE.
The audit, tax and consulting firm will occupy nearly 27,000 square feet on the eighth and ninth floors of the $37 million, 113,000-square-foot tower under construction on First Street SE between Second and Third avenues SE.
Steve Schoenauer, RSM Eastern Iowa market managing partner, said in a news release that continued growth across all lines of business contributed to the firm's decision to relocate its Cedar Rapids office.
'Our new space also will accommodate future growth, which we are anticipating,” Schoenauer said.
RSM employs about 140 people in its Cedar Rapids practice, a 38 percent increase from four years ago. That figure includes a large contingent of business consultants, particularly in the information technology area.
'We recently shared renderings of our new space with employees,” Schoenauer said. 'They were excited by the open, more collaborative design of the office, as well as the large employee breakroom and a training center with a balcony that overlooks the river. It will be a pleasant environment, which is always helpful in attracting and retaining talented professionals.”
Schoenauer said the CRST Center will include ample parking for clients and employees of the firm. The building will have three floors of parking for approximately 240 vehicles topped by eight floors of office space.
CRST's headquarters, currently in southwest Cedar Rapids, will occupy two floors of the building. Bankers Trust will be the anchor tenant, leasing the top two floors of the building.
Bankers Trust, which also will have a street level retail branch office, will expand its commercial and private banking, residential mortgage and trust and wealth management services.
