Milo B. Kofron, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died late Monday evening, March 16, 2015, at Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church by Father Christopher Podhajsky. Burial: St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St. SE, where a rosary begins at 7:30 p.m.
Milo is survived by his son, Bernie, Cedar Rapids; a daughter-in-law, Lawana Kofron, Cedar Rapids; grandson, Shane (Cindy) Kofron, Shueyville; two sisters, Ginger (Ken) Erger and Rose Sedlacek, both of Cedar Rapids; and four great-grandchildren, Chayse, Peyton, Torrie and Kyann Kofron.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; his son, Ron; grandson, Thad; and his parents, Frank and Elizabeth (Noska) Kofron.
Milo was born Nov. 20, 1923, in Cedar Rapids, and was a lifelong resident. He married Gladys A. Blin on Jan. 28, 1947, in Algona, Iowa. Gladys died July 9, 2011. Milo was employed as a torch cutter at Link-Belt Speeder Co. for 40 years until his retirement.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. Milo was a longtime member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
Military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Moomey-Vogel Post 727.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
