Patricia P. Martens, 77, of Marion, died Aug. 30, 2014. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at Palo Cemetery, Palo.
Survivors include her daughter, Laura Martens of
Marion; grandson, Reggie Harris of Cedar Rapids and his daughter, Arianna; granddaughter, Stacie Horn of Marion; brother, Larry (Rosemary) Swanson of Florida; son-in-law, Maden Pal of North Liberty; brother-in-law, Lloyd (Alice) Martens; and several great friends who also were her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marty; and daughter, Diane Pal.
Pat was born July 4, 1937, the daughter of Milton and Leola (Barnett) Swanson in Ottumwa, Iowa. On Dec. 8, 1956, she married the love of her life, LaVerne "Marty" Martens, in Cedar Rapids. Pat retired from Smulekoff's Home Store.
She was an avid Cubs and Hawkeye fan and collected purple cows as long as her loved ones can remember.
Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
