Des Moines police have arrested an employee of a care facility on charges of sexual abuse of a resident.
Authorities allege 41-year-old Napoleon Mbonyunkiza (muh-BAHN'-yuhn-KEE'-zuh) abused a female resident of the Mosaic care center in Des Moines.
The alleged victim is severely mentally disabled and has cerebral palsy. Police say she uses a wheelchair and cannot speak or communicate.
The victim was pregnant, which was discovered during a medical appointment. More than 20 staff members of the care facility agreed to DNA tests, including Mbonyunkiza.
Police Sgt. Lori Lavorato says Mbonyunkiza's test was a positive match, which led to his arrest on Monday.
He was being held at the Polk County Jail. It was not immediately clear whether he has an attorney.
