Wilma Cozette "Cozy" Caldwell, 88, of Hiawatha, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at Emery Place in Robins from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
A visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. Inurnment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum. There will be no funeral at Cozy's request.
Wilma was born Dec. 29, 1927, in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of Clark and Marieva (Chesmore) McMillen. The family later moved and she attended school in Quasqueton. On April 8, 1945, she married Donald E. Caldwell, her childhood sweetheart, in Cedar Rapids.
She spent most of her adult life caring for her family and working with her husband at Caldwell Realty. She enjoyed participating as an active member of Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed mall walking and visiting friends at the mall. One of her favorites was meeting friends for breakfast at Hy-Vee Food Store. She also loved gardening and traveling with her husband, Donald.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Donald; her sons, Gary (Jill) Caldwell of Hiawatha, Craig (Kim) Caldwell of Cedar Rapids and Scott Caldwell of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Matthew Caldwell, Eric (Holly) Caldwell, Alyssa Caldwell and Kayleen (A.J.) Ward; and her great-grandson, Gavin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Eldon McMillen.
